Alice {Whole Mother Village}

Sometimes you meet someone and it is easy from the beginning. The energy is right, conversation flows effortlessly for hours and no matter how much time passes in-between conversations or meet-ups you always pick up where you left off. You respect and admire them and you feel like you are a better person because they are part of your tribe. I am lucky enough to have that with Alice. Alice is a doula, birth photographer and the woman behind Whole Mother Village. We first met when she hired me to photograph the birth of her second daughter. Being hired by a doula/birth photographer was intimidating but once I met Alice I knew it was going to be an amazing experience...and I wasn't wrong. Alice's birth was absolutely incredible (I had a "birth high" for DAYS after.) A sense of admiration flows over me anytime I am with Alice. The way she parents and nurtures, the way her children have her kind, gentle spirit, how fiercely they all love one-another, the way she is constantly thinking of ways to support and help others...she is simply a beautiful person who is raising incredibly wonderful little people. The world is a better place because of people like Alice and her family and I cannot wait to see all of the incredible things she does with Whole Mother Village.

Edited on 5/18/18: I have had a chance to visit the WMV studio and see the incredible things Alice has done with Whole Mother Village (located at 18 Lindsley Ave West Orange, NJ.) It has exceeded all expectations! WMV is enhancing the way birth workers connect with and support families as well as changing the way mothers support one-another...and I love it!
